How the tracker works

One price table, checked in the open.

Every price on this site is read from one fact table with a source URL and a checked-on date per charger. The tracker is a dated log of changes to that table, and a test in the site’s build fails if a price changes without a dated entry, so the log cannot drift from the figures in the reviews.

We record the price a UK retailer or the maker was charging on the day, for the variant named in the review (socketed or tethered, cable length). Where a charger is only sold as an installed package, the basis is recorded and the switch is logged separately from a price movement. The log began on 15 July 2026; we do not reconstruct earlier history. The methodology page covers how the rest of the site is checked, and the tariff tracker does the same job for electricity rates.

Each price is the figure a UK retailer or the maker was actually charging on the day we checked, with the source URL recorded against it. Where a unit is only sold installed, the table says so: a £966 installed package is not comparable with a £480 bare unit, and the log marks that kind of switch separately from a price movement. The current figures were checked on 7 October 2026.
