Should You Buy the EcoFlow PowerPulse 2? UK 2026 Verdict
EcoFlow Enters the UK EV Charger Market
EcoFlow is best known for portable power stations — the Delta and River series are UK fixtures. It also makes the PowerOcean home battery. The PowerPulse 2 is the company's first move into UK home EV chargers.
The pitch: if you already own (or plan to buy) EcoFlow solar panels and a PowerOcean battery, the PowerPulse 2 manages the entire home energy ecosystem — solar generation, battery storage, household consumption, EV charging — from a single app. No other UK charger integrates that tightly with a home battery system.
The harder question is whether it holds up as a standalone charger for buyers without any EcoFlow kit.

What Makes It Different
Solar and Battery Ecosystem Integration
The headline feature. In Solar Mode, the charger prioritises excess solar output from panels or a PowerOcean battery. When the sun is out and the battery is full, the surplus flows straight to the car — free charging.
Other chargers offer solar diversion — the Zappi GLO is the reference point — but no other charger communicates directly with a home battery the way the PowerPulse 2 talks to the PowerOcean. The EcoFlow app shows solar generation, battery state of charge, home consumption, and EV charging status in a single dashboard.
Without EcoFlow kit, the solar features still work with any standard solar PV installation — but the battery integration that makes the ecosystem compelling is what's missing.
Three-Phase Support
The PowerPulse 2 supports up to 22kW on a three-phase supply — the same as the Tesla Wall Connector and Simpson & Partners Home 7. Three-phase supplies are rare in UK homes (under 5%) but increasingly common in new builds. With one, this charger fully charges a 60kWh battery in under 3 hours.
Built-in LCD Display
A small but useful touch. The screen shows charging status, power draw, and session information at a glance. Most competitors push that to the app. Handy for quick checks on the way out — no phone needed.
How It Compares
| Feature | EcoFlow PowerPulse 2 | [Zappi GLO](/chargers/zappi-glo/) | [VCHRGD Seven Pro](/chargers/vchrgd-seven-pro/) | [Tesla Wall Connector](/chargers/tesla-wall-connector/) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | ~£545 | £599 | £445 | £478 |
| Solar Modes | Solar Mode | Eco + Eco+ | Solar Export + Solar Only | None |
| Three-Phase | Yes (22kW) | No | No | Yes (22kW) |
| Smart Tariff | Smart Mode | Schedule-based | Octopus Go integration | Manual scheduling |
| Battery Integration | PowerOcean | myenergi ecosystem | None | Powerwall (limited) |
| Warranty | 3 years | 3 years | 3 years | 4 years |
The Zappi GLO (£750) remains the more proven solar charger with a larger install base and more sophisticated diversion modes — but it costs £54 more and lacks three-phase support.
The VCHRGD Seven Pro (£445) is £100 cheaper and includes RFID, OCPP, and dual solar modes, making it arguably better pure value — but has no battery ecosystem integration and no three-phase capability.
The Tesla Wall Connector (£478) is the cheapest option with three-phase support and unmatched Tesla app integration, but offers zero solar features.
Who Should Buy the PowerPulse 2?
Buy it if:
- You own or plan to buy an EcoFlow PowerOcean battery system — the ecosystem integration is the best reason to choose this charger
- You have a three-phase supply and want solar integration — no other solar-capable charger at this price offers 22kW
- You value having a built-in LCD display for at-a-glance status checks
Consider alternatives if:
- You want the most mature solar diversion system — the Zappi GLO has a larger install base and more proven track record
- You want the cheapest possible solar-capable charger — the VCHRGD Seven Pro costs £100 less
- You want the deepest smart tariff integration — the Ohme Home Pro communicates directly with Octopus Energy's API
- You prioritise brand track record and warranty length — EcoFlow is new to the UK EV charger market
The Verdict
For EcoFlow ecosystem owners, the PowerPulse 2 is the obvious choice — no other charger integrates as tightly with a home battery. Solar mode, smart tariff optimisation, three-phase support, and an LCD display make it a well-rounded package at a competitive price.
The risk is brand immaturity. EcoFlow makes strong portable power products, but this is its first UK home wallbox. The 3-year warranty is shorter than several rivals and the installer network is still growing. Early adopters comfortable with that trade-off get a lot of charger for the money.
